Best Times to Travel
You can avoid traffic congestion by traveling during off-peak hours. According to the Maryland Transportation Authority, the best times for cross in the Chesapeake Bay Bridge are:
Thursdays – before 2 p.m.
Fridays – before noon and after 8 p.m.
Saturdays – before 7 a.m. and between 5 and 10 p.m.
Sundays – between 7 and 11 a.m. and after 10 p.m
EZ Pass
You may be able to get through the toll booth faster with EZ Pass. EZ Pass collects the fare from a transponder on your windshield. You can order EZ Pass online or pick up an EZ Pass to Go package at Mars Supermarkets and Annapolis area Giant Food Stores.
